Letter to my firecracker: 29 months

Micaela,

(sorry for being a bit late with your monthly update hon, but here it comes...)

If I had to sum up this last month with you in one sentence, I would have to tell you how immensely proud of you I am.

First, I want to thank you for helping me smile even when I felt like crying since we lost papapa. And I must admit that after all, this past month was a lot of fun sweetie! We got the chance to spend some time with your favorite uncle and auntie: Kathy & Nico and even though you miss them a lot more than before now, I am happy that you got to see them after 9 yes, 9 LONG months apart...

Your verbal development is blowing my mind, sweetheart. You are a firecracker – always telling stories and imagining fascinating things and running around like a wild animal. You are also hugely in love with singing (you can sing about half a dozen English nursery rhymes now CUTEST THING EVER) and dancing (although strangely not keen on my dancing…) and jumping. You are silly and clever and wonderful and we love you like crazy.

There are two really big cool things that have happened this month and the first one is this: you have become more interested in trying to use the toilet by yourself. You announce that you need to use the bathroom and now you wash and dry your hands and brush your teeth all by yourself. Pretty amazing! When you’re thirty, don’t be surprised if I’m STILL amazed that you can perform basic tasks without me. :)

The second really awesome and big thing is that you are almost ready to sleep by yourself. Wow! I never thought this would happen (although I had read it was going to work out that way). We have put your matress down on the floor for it to be safer and we will start sleeping there very soon!

I am so in love with you Micaela and believe me, I will always be!

Love you from here to the stars,

Mommy
