I ask her if she’s my happy girl, my clever girl, my strong-willed girl, my lovely girl, my witty girl, my eco-conscious girl, my compassionate girl, my independent girl. She says yes, always yes, with a please little smile curling on her lips. And when I see this image, I know she really is.
